It’s that time of the year again – Fire Prevention Week!
Fire Prevention Week always falls during the week in which October 9th falls. Themes change yearly and this year’s theme revolves around the fact that every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm.
Fire Prevention Week was established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, the tragic 1871 conflagration that killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres. The fire began on October 8, but continued into and did most of its damage on October 9, 1871.
We spend a lot of time in the community during the month of October reaching out and teaching kids about fire safety and fire prevention. If you are interested in booking an event for your school or daycare, call now because we book up early during this time! You can contact Brittney at 281-376-4449 to set something up.
